Nîmes en Roller, FIC stage 2: Vincent takes the fourth place
The second stage of the French Inline Cup was the first competition raced under sunny skies in France this season. But it was not the only big news of this Sunday in Nîmes. And the winner of the men marathon, Matthieu Boher (RPM Poli), was the overall winner of the FIC 2007! By his side, Vincent worked hard, was in the winning break and took the fourth place.
The men race went on right from the gun, with some attacks of the main national teams (RPM Poli, EO-Skate, Levallois Sporting Club…). After four laps of race (out of 16), a trio escaped, with Sébastien Babault (RPM Poli), Robin Duez (ALVA) and Franck Schuffenaker (EO-Skate). They were chased down by another trio –Matthieu Boher (RPM Poli), Richard Deniaud (single licence) and Vincent – whereas Babault unfortunately fell…
They were now five ahead at mid-race, and things did not change anymore. At three laps to the end, Deniaud escaped again, with Vincent and Boher in his wheels. But only that last one was able to follow. Finally, Boher nipped Deniaud for the first place, whereas Vincent arrived with Duez, but for the fourth place. Anyway, this result offers to the LSC skater points enough to enter into the Top 5 of the provisionnal ranking of the FIC 2008.
