In the pre-last pair, Kramer was paired with Frenchman Alexis Contin, a five-times inline world champion who improved a lot this year on ice training with Fabris. Kramer lived up to expectations and won the distance in 6:19.78; Contin finished with 6:25.70, reaching the bronze on the distance. Ivan Skobrev in the final pair finished behind Dutchman Jan Blokhuijsen, who was fourth overall.
