Les chaussures Mariani par Matthieu Barrault
Matthieu Barrault a été le premier patineur du LSC a recevoir ses Mariani moulées. Dans ce premier article, le Toulousain évoque ses impressions, chaussures aux pieds.
Ma première impression lorsque j’ai mis mes Mariani pour la première fois a été, et de loin : « putain, ça rentre ! » (ou alors : « Wahoo ! Elles me vont ! »). A chaque fois que j’ai eu reçu des chaussures auparavant, qu’elles aient été standards ou sur mesure, la plupart du temps il fallait rectifier quelque chose : la malléole, l’attache rapide, la languette…
Ca fait maintenant quatre mois que je patine avec mes Mariani et je n’ai encore pas encore eu un seul désagrément jusqu’à présent. Pas de languette à couper, pas de malléole à chauffer, pas d’attache rapide trop loin sur la chaussure… Comme on dit par chez nous : « Mets-les ! Vas patiner ! ».
J’ai trouvé deux principales qualités à ces chaussures. Tout d’abord, c’est le confort qui marque. Mariani a trouvé la bonne combinaison entre matériel de précision et confort d’utilisation. D’ailleurs aujourd’hui, non seulement je les garde très facilement aux pieds pendant tout le temps que j’entraîne mes patineurs, mais en plus je les garde facilement après l’entraînement pour rouler pour moi-même. Il ne m’arrive plus comme avant de courir les sortir pour me soulager dès la séance finie.
Il y a quelques temps, il fallait que je prépare méticuleusement mes pieds avant d’aller faire un entraînement sur route. Aujourd’hui, j’ai réellement redécouvert le plaisir de la sortie du dimanche matin avec mes gars !
La seconde qualité a l’air d’être la qualité de fabrication. Les chaussures sont vraiment solides aussi bien au niveau du carbone et de l’insert qu’au niveau du cuir. Bien sûr, il faut toujours en prendre soin mais elles promettent de ne pas se casser pour un bon moment en tout cas.

My first impression when I got into my Mariani boots was : “They fit !” I have tried several brands beforehand, both standards and customs and most of the time the boots I received did not entirely fit. May it be the malleolus, or the fast-attached lock on the side which was not in a good place, the shoe tongue with wrong size...
I have been skating with them since 4 months now and I have never experienced any inconvenience so far. As we use to say : “Put’em on, go ridin’ “ !
There are two major assets that I have noticed about Mariani skates. First of all, as said before, is the comfort of the boots. They manage somehow to merge high level skating material with ease and comfort using them. I easily keep them on even when I am coaching my skaters during a long time and it became a pleasure to have them on. I don’t rush anymore right after the end of the training to remove them and I even sometimes continue to skate for myself afterwards. Before I had to prepare my feet for road training if I didn’t want to spend a bad time while skating. I now don’t think about it any longer and I have discovered again the joy to go on long training out on the road on Sunday morning with my boys !
The second one seems to be the manufacturing quality. The boots look quite solid and well-built. Of course one ought to be careful as with any other boots but they promise not to dismantle themselves for a long time, especially concerning the leather-cover. I received the last custom boots model. The outfit is great and colours are nice. Everything match on the skates and the lacers are stiff and handy.
