Roller Marathon of Beauvaisis: Julien captures his first victory of the season!
Julien Levrard managed to capture his first victory of the season in the Roller Marathon of Beauvaisis, North of France. The young leader of the team of Levallois Sporting Club managed to finish the race alone, about 20 seconds in front of Sébastien Henry (Renard Inline) and 40 in front of his team mate, Vincent Esnault!
It was again a sunny day on France last 1st of May. And it was also the first time the club of Saint-Paul Position proposed a marathon near the city of Beauvais. The 8km loops around the country was not that much easy: lot of win and three though up hills... Enough to make the difference!
Which arrived in the first of the 11 laps. After having broken with six other skaters, the two team mates of LSC, Julien and Vincent, managed to go again with only Sébastien Henry (Renard Inline) in the group. The three worked well together till the ninth lap – when the race started to be more tactical.
At that moment, Julien tryed to go alone one time, then Vincent too. But Henry was still stuck to their wheels. The first to give up was Vincent, who had to stay 20m behind the two others, which leave the pressure on Henry... In the last 2kms, Henry had worked to much to be able to sprint: it was the moment when Julien decided to accelerate one last time, and it worked. The young skater from Rouen crossed the line alone, then Henry and Vincent.
