FIC stage 6 : Julien in first place in Besançon

Publié le par Vincent Esnault

Three skaters from the team of Levallois Sporting Club took the start of the sixth stage of the French Inline Cup 2007: Julien Levrard, Kévin Gauclin and Vincent Esnault. The main goal for the trio was to protect Julien and help him to achieve the best result, in order to take the leading place of the FIC again. Misson accomplished! Julien won the race and is now very close to the top of the French marathon ranking!

The BESAC marathon was raced under very hot conditions on a quite physical circuit (many up hills and a rough road). The pace of 35 skaters took the start for 15 laps (42,5km) at 15:30. Right from the start, Vincent escaped with Jean-Bernard Péridy (Renard Inline) for eight laps: but the Levallois skater failled and the break, initially with a gap of about one minute, was swallowed back in the peloton.

At mid-race, Julien, Kévin and Vincent made their adversories work with many accelerations ahead. The tactical was successfull: Julien finally managed to go with a group of four other skaters at four laps to the end: the “blue” was the fastest in the final sprint and took his first victory in the FIC series this season. This is a very good way to continue for the coming stages in Lyon and Pontarlier and try to take the maximum amount of points!

Ranking:

1 – Julien Levrard (LSC), 42km in 1h14’06,

2 – Benjamin Douchin (Renard Inline), same time,

3 – Cyril Laurent (Eo Anaeli), st,

4 – Benjamin Bourlier, st,

5 – Bastien Euvrard (LOU Roller), st,

13 – Vincent Esnault (LSC),

27 – Kévin Gauclin (LSC).
